Visit Roaring Camp Railroads in Santa Cruz California
Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California you will find the town of Felton.
This is where you will discover Roaring Camp and the Roaring Camp Railroads. Step into the past and enter an 1880's logging town with trains that run every day except Christmas.
The whole family will enjoy spending a day at Roaring Camp Railroads. The list of activities is impressive to say the least. Aside from the different train rides, you can go hiking, pan for gold, play horseshoes or volleyball, or even try your hand at candle making.
Get your group together for an old time photo shoot. Dress up like you live in the old west and have some fun with the props. The photos will make lifetime memories.
If you work up an appetite panning for gold, check out the chuckwagon BBQ or the Red Caboose restaurant for some good home cooking.
Of course the highlight of your day will be the train rides. Choose from two different trips, depending on how long you plan to ride for. The Redwood Forest Steam Train travels to Bear Mountain through the beautiful redwood forest and takes one hour and fifteen minutes for the round trip. Learn about the history of the locomotive and how they used to carry the giant redwoods out of the forest. The Santa Cruz Beach Train travels down the San Lorenzo River Gorge and crosses a 1909 steel truss bridge. It also passes through an 1975 tunnel and arrives at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. This trip is three hours for the round trip.
There are special holiday events and themed train rides for holidays such as an Easter Egg Hunt, a Halloween Ghost Train and a Holiday Lights Train.
